Legal Drug

Before you get too excited I should clarify that I'm talking about CLAMP's manga, not actual legal drugs. Of course, with the innuendo, subtext, pretty and crossdressing, you might not even notice the difference...

In any case, I meant to ask if any of you are familiar with the official Tokyopop translation? I recently read the scanlations and I'm curious to know if Tokyopop's version differs from those (and if they do, how much). I'm kind of tempted to buy them but the bookshop didn't have any when I went to check. I could order from their online shop but I'd rather not when I don't know how good the translation is.

The other option is to go to the shop where I buy my other non-CLAMP manga and hope they have them. Unfortunately I always feel a bit guilty when I go to a little shop and then don't buy anything. Especially if the cashier stares. And I wouldn't buy their volumes because it'd be more expensive (almost three euros/volume).

So, anyone know if Tokyopop's translation is any good?

No idea about the Tokyopop translation, though. I think I have volume 1, but that's in German, so I can't say anything about the English translation. Sorry.

Heee, someone else who likes Legal Drug! ♥ They're very pretty and it's so full of crack that it really makes me laugh aloud. :D I hope that CLAMP will continue it eventually. It'd be so cruel to give a li~ttle taste of something good and then take the plate away.

Yay, no exams! I'm... sleepy. And skipping German class 'cause it just seems so very pointless. Life is entirely uneventful and I just drift along *nods* Not that I'm complaining. Only maybe a little bit. Be nice to have the motivation to actually do something for my final exams and all *coughs*

I've never read of of CLAMP's manga. I was told by experienced manga fans that their stuff is cracktastic, so I've yet to fall into one of their fandoms. *g*

CLAMP is pretty cracktastic, yes. *g* But they have serious stuff too! I like Tsubasa and xxxHolic, and now Legal Drug. Their older manga don't interested me all that much because the art is much better in their later works (I like them pretty but not with ridiculously huge eyes and long lashes).

I don't know it in particular, but I have heard of it - I do believe it's yet another one of CLAMP's unfinished manga? Mind that they've the nasty habit of not quite returning to their projects once 'temporarily' abandoned. Drives me insane, because I labour under the hope that maybe, maybe they'll some day finish X. Maybe.

Yes. *siiiiiiiigh* Three volumes and a promise to return to it, too (honestly, how many manga do they have in progress?), once Tsubasa and xxxHolic are done. We'll see about that.

Legal Drug is quite promising. ♥ They hint to tragic and mysterious backgrounds but never had time to explore them more. As it is, we have crack and a Doumeki-ish person with facial expressions. *gasp*
