I liked the first two Artemis Fowl books. They had new ideas and interesting characters. The second book was my favourite. I don't remember much of the third book and that should say something of it.

This new one is somewhere between the first and the third, and proves that one should stop when he's winning. Colfer wrapped everything up in the third book and a sequel wasn't necessarity. It was a nice and readable book, but I could have lived without it. Actually, stopping after the first two books would have been even better idea, and now I'd bet there will be even more sequels. Oh well, I'll probably end up reading them, too, just out of curiosity.
