Ooooh, well met! Adobe 7.0 here too. *solemn nod* Don't know about Image Ready, but people usually praise the hell out of Corel, so I'd been meaning to ask whether you'd been trying your hand at it.
Corel? Can't say that I've heard of it. ImageReady came with the Adobe 7.0 and since it's apparently quite handy once one learns to use it, I've never bothered to try anything else.

I'm still learning, too, and I've had Adobe 7.0 for a year and a half or so. A good place to find advice is icon_tutorial. I usually bookmark the tutorials I think could be useful. Tutorials for the basics (layers, brushes, movement...) of several programs are in the community's memories and definitely worth looking for.
I don't know why, because normally I fail to acknowledge keiko even exists after the first 5 episodes of YYH, I really liked the keiko one and took it. It's really pretty.
