*snickering* and Naruto

*laughs herself to death* Go on, make your own sappy romance novel covers.

I've been watching the Naruto episodes [personal profile] blueutopiah sent to me and obviously I like them. I had completely forgotten some things after reading the manga, like Anko's connection to Orochimaru and Kabuto's lovely sneakiness. Then I started thinking of the Naruto timeline and how old the Yondaime is/was/would be...

Info from Leafninja.com.

When Sasuke leaves Konoha, the ages were something like this:
Naruto + co.: 13
Kakashi: 27
Jiraiya + co.: 51

The Kyuubi incident was 13 years before that, Jiraiya leaves Konoha around this time:
Naruto: 0 (few weeks?)
Kakashi: 14
Jiraiya: 38

Kakashi Gaiden was ~1 year before the Kyuubi, before Yondaime Hokage actually becomes the Hokage, and around the time Orochimaru flees from Konoha:
Kakashi: 13
Jiraiya: 37
Yondaime: 20, because...

Jiraiya trained Yondaime-Hokage-to-be 24 years before the series and the Yondaime graduated when he was 10:
Jiraiya: 27
Kakashi: 3
Yondaime: 10

I did wonder how anyone could become the Hokage when he's only 20/21, but then I rememberd that in Naruto world people become Chuunin at the tender age of six. Not to mention that Yondaime seemed to be intelligent, strong and charismatic enough to actually deserve it. Too bad the Kyuubi incident happened and he was able to suffer enjoy of his new status less than a year.

No wonder Orochimaru threw a temper tantrum and decided to be evil: he was beaten by a boy who was 17/18 years younger than he was.

That would also mean that the Yondaime probably wasn't Kakashi's first Sensei. Rin and Obito weren't geniuses like Kakashi was, so while they were around the same age, they graduated when they were nine. So Kakashi had 4 years to do something else. Did he have another Genin/Chuunin team? If so, what happened to it?
All of that was brought to you by my not-so-vague thoughts of Yondaime/Kakashi. Oh, like you haven't thought about it.

(And more Saiyuki recs.)
